Haven't been to WDW since 2005. Our kids are 8 & 11. Wondering how flexible restaurants are if my son, picky eater, doesn't like anything from the adult menu but does from the kids menu. Also what are some def. things we should do/see? Thank You :)

    Hi Scott!

Congratulations on your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation!

It's a bit of a tough age when kids are only just out of the kids' menu age and pricing, but haven't yet grown into their 'adult tastes.' I can relate completely as I'm about to embark on our first WDW vacation on which my youngest is now an adult on the Disney Dining Plan, yet eats like a bird and is picky!

The great news is that most table service restaurants will be happy to provide an adult-sized portion of a child's menu option whenever possible. If your 11-year-old doesn't see anything on the adult menu that he'd enjoy, just ask your server for some additional options made into a portion, sized for the price you've paid for his 'adult' meal. I'm sure you'll be quite pleased with the accommodations that can be made!

There are some great new attractions and updates at Walt Disney World since your 2005 visit. Over at Magic Kingdom, be sure to try out the brand new Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom interactive game. It'll surely be a big hit given your kids' ages! In Hollywood Studios, be sure to head straight to Toy Story Mania! as well as taking in the Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show and the newly updated, Star Tours, now in digital 3D! In Epcot you'll find new attractions in The Seas with Nemo & Friends, themed after Disney Pixar's Finding Nemo. Over at Animal Kingdom, you won't want to miss Expedition Everest! This coaster is anything but ordinary! It's one of my family's definite favourites.

I hope you'll visit again with more great planning questions to make your next trip the best one yet!
Wishing you a simply Magical time at Walt Disney World Scott.
