Haven't been to Ft. W. campground in many years. Do they still have trams to take you around the campground loops? We'd like to ride one to see Christmas decs at the campsites before going to Hoop de Doo.

Hi Karen! I am a frequent "camper" at Fort Wilderness and love that area of Walt Disney World.

They do not have trams that go from loop to loop. During the holidays you can book a sleigh ride which is really a horse drawn carriage that will take you through some of the loops to see the Christmas decorations. You need a reservation and can book that by calling recreation at 407-939-7529. It is about a 30 minute ride and the carriages can hold up to four adults.

Guests now get around on their own by renting golf carts. They are rented on a daily basis and are up to about $60 a day so it would be pricey for someone to just come in and rent one for an hour of touring. They also need to be booked ahead and the chances anything being available at last minute would be slim. There are internal buses now but they do not go through the loops and you would only see the decorations that are close to the main roads.

Many guests go all out and it is always fun to visit at Halloween and Christmas!
