What happens when you are running late for dinner reservations? Do they give you some "lee-way"? Should you call and tell them how long you'll be?

Hello Karen! Your question is really funny to me, because this past August on a trip to Walt Disney World, my Mom's Panel friends Jason K., Heather S., and I were running late like the White Rabbit to everything, including all of our dining reservations. In fact, I think we were almost an hour late to our reservation at Teppan Edo, and we were still greeted with nothing but welcoming smiles. Obviously you want to try your hardest not to be late, and usually at really popular restaurants like Be Our Guest Restaurant they won't let you be more than 15 minutes late. I think that it definitely depends on which restaurant your reservation is at and if they have the room to accommodate your party after arriving late. I would suggest being mindful of the time, and if you can, try to arrive at least 10 minutes prior to the start of your reservation. I'm mostly suggesting that you do not act like us and show up an hour late! They do give you some lee-way, and it just depends on the location, but the general rule is no more than 15 minutes.

I hope this helps, and if you need anything else, please don't hesitate to come back and visit us. Have a magical Walt Disney World vacation.
