What happens during Port Check in? I am trying to choose a good time to get to the Port but am worried about my children having to wait around when I could be exploring Barcelona instead! Is it best to be earlier or later? Thank You

    Ahoy, Jodie!

How exciting... your magical cruise awaits in just another couple of days. Sounds like you're really making the most of your pre-cruise stay out in Barcelona. It's such an energizing city with lots of culture to observe and appreciate. My family and I still look back at our pictures, since we had a pretty awesome time out there. It was an adventure that excited all our senses... especially our palates, since we love food.

There's nothing like kicking off your magical voyage with a leisurely check in process. I'm assuming you've got all your online check in processes completed and travel documents ready to go. When my family and I prepare to embark on a Disney Cruise, we usually plan on a pretty mellow embarkation morning. If there is a breakfast spot that you're looking to enjoy while still in Barcelona, then I think you have time to enjoy that. (yum.. there's never a bad time for a freshly made churro con chocolate!)

The port isn't too far away from the city center, so you do have a little time to enjoy the morning and then checkout from your hotel at the regular mid-morning check out time. Embarkation morning could easily be breakfast, followed by packing the rest of your luggage or day bags, and then leaving for the port by mid to late morning. I personally like arriving at the port and checking-in just in time for lunch. That schedule is pretty much dictated by how my kids do in the morning of course. Jetlag could be a hassle sometimes, but the thought of being on the Disney Cruise gets them quickly on their feet and ready to go. This way, you're already onboard and enjoying the Magic. The Port Check In process isn't very complicated at all. Your travel documents are validated and you follow the signs that lead you to the boarding area... and the party begins!

Wishing you a fabulous voyage with Captain Mickey and his crew!
