What happens if my 5y decides she doesn't want to ride an attraction after waiting in line/using a fast pass? ie right as we're about to board? Would I be able to exit the attraction with her than return to ride myself without having to wait?

Hey, Hailey! This is a great question and I'm glad you stopped by because I have a little story to share with you! This past summer, I took my younger daughter to Walt Disney World Resort for some fun time together. This vacation was built all around the things that she wanted to do and, above all else, she could not wait to ride Avatar Flight of Passage. I dutifully made FastPass+ selections for it on multiple days. The magical day finally arrived, we both eagerly walked the queue to our awaiting banshee, I sat down on the back of the ride vehicle ... and finally noticed my little one was glued to the back wall! She suddenly was scared of an attraction for the first time in her life! A very sweet Cast Member came over and let us exit the area. I talked to my daughter for a bit and decided this just wasn't going to happen. The Cast Member gave us two FastPass+ tickets for the attraction to come back later that day if she did decide to ride it. While we never did get to hop on that day, she talked herself into it another day and decided it was "the bestest ride EVER."

Hailey, you will hopefully not have to worry about having a scared little one during your vacation. However, if you do, just chat with the nearest Cast Member so they can help you easily exit the area and maybe even sprinkle some pixie dust for you in the form of return FastPass+ tickets as they did with us this summer. You can then find your way back later that day for a magical moment while someone watches your daughter.

If you do worry that she may be scared of several attractions, look through YouTube for videos that offer on-ride POV (point of view). She could watch some of them and prep herself for what she will experience, maybe taking away some of that fear factor!

Thank you so much for stopping by with your question. Please let us know if you have any others as you continue to plan your adventures!
