We have a handicapped dog. As a result she wears diapers. Since pet boarding is not an option, is there another choice other than Disney's Fort Wilderness RV Resort?

Hi Elizabeth! I can certainly appreciate your wish and desire to bring your pet from home especially one that has some special needs. Unfortunately, the only way to have a pet with you at Walt Disney World is to have a camper of some sort at Fort Wilderness. The cabins there are not pet friendly either. Service dogs with proper authorization are the only dogs allowed at any other resort.

I do not know about surrounding area hotel pet policies but there might be a few that allow them. The new Four Seasons resort located next to Fort Wilderness does have a small dog rule that you can look into. There is also a wonderful pet boarding facility located on property called Best Friends Pet Care. We have used this many times for our two dogs when we have had to leave town for a weekend while staying at Fort Wilderness. They have given the dogs the best care possible and they come home very happy.  There are a variety of boarding rooms and services for you to choose from and they welcome tours before you book your dates. Owners are welcome to come during the day to visit and walk and play with your pet as much as they wish.

This would be my suggestion as an alternative for your pet. It allows you to stay at a Disney resort with your pet staying in top boarding facilities right on property. It is located directly across from Port Orleans Riverside and if you choose that resort you are only steps away at all times.
