Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween Party
  • On Sep 8, 2019

We will be going to the Halloween party and my kid wants the 3 of us to dress up like KISS. He has a costume and grandma and I have printed t shirts of the band members (chest hair, jewelry and all). Will this be ok to wear for all of us? Amazon buys 4 all

    Hi Calla,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I'm married to a guitarist who is in an 80's rock cover band, and I just want to say thank you for bringing a huge smile to my face. Your son sounds awesome, and you and grandma are amazing for going along with this rockin’ idea.

Okay, I have to get it out of my system, so sing it with me: “You’re gonna rock and roll all night…at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party!”

As long as your kiddo, grandma, and you all abide by the Costume Guidelines for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, you will be all set to party with the Headless Horseman. October in Orlando is pretty warm, so keep in mind that you’ll want to be cool (you’ve already got the coolest costume idea ever, so I’m talking about temperature here). If you’re going to paint your faces, I recommend bringing touch-up face paint, make-up remover wipes, and some paper towel for blotting, as it can get sweaty. A hand-held fan might help, too. In terms of the KISS t-shirts, just make sure that they are family-friendly.

I am already imagining how fantastic your pictures are going to be, so I recommend purchasing Memory Maker. You’ll be able to stop and take family photos with PhotoPass photographers stationed all around Magic Kingdom Park, capture attraction photos (I’m smiling imagining KISS on Splash Mountain), and even request Magic Shots, where spooky magic is added to your photos. You’ll definitely want to look back at photos from this epic night, and Memory Maker is like having your own band photographer!

“Shout it, shout it, shout it out loud” because you are going to be trick-or-treating down Main Street, U.S.A. in just a few weeks. As KISS would sing, “you were made for Halloween, baby” and I just love this unique costume idea. Have so much fun in “Magic Kingdom Rock City,” Calla! Rock on!

    Wishing you a magical vacation,
    Robyn
