If I have 2 half days to spend in DTD what are must do for a family with girls 10-12 ? Also what is there to do for a half day at the boardwalk area? Thank you

Hi Lisa! When traveling with girls you can be sure they will want to at least do a little shopping in Downtown Disney. There are wonderful stores ranging from Disney merchandise to crystal to cookies and candy!

As you move along the lake and head over to the west side of Downtown Disney you will find a large balloon tethered to the ground called Characters in Flight. I am sure everyone would enjoy a quick trip up to see the entire Disney property from several hundred feet in the air. You remain tethered but weather can close this attraction down at times.

Another favorite stopping place since it opened is the Splitsville bowling facility. Here you can all rent a lane and bowl for a couple of hours. It is guaranteed lots of laughs and fun. The cost includes a ball and shoes and if you want to order lunch while you are bowling you can eat and roll at the same time.

Check the AMC movie theater schedule to see what is playing at the Downtown Disney location. We especially enjoy booking a fork and screen showing where we can sit in theater type seats and eat while watching.

Down close to the end you will see Disney Quest which is a multi floored building full of many interactive games and activities for the family. These locations I have mentioned are an extra expense so be sure and remember that when budgeting.

In the Boardwalk area you can cruise through the resorts to check them out. Daytime is a more quiet time in this area and street entertainment comes out around 5pm. The ESPN Zone is a good dining spot and their arcade is one of the largest. You might also consider renting a boat at the Yacht Club marina.
