We have been guests at Disney World Resorts before and have our wrist bands from that stay. When we schedule our next vacation (February 2018) will we need new wrist bands or will our previous bands still be able to be used?

Hi Tracey! 2018 seems so far away and yet you have less then a year to plan for your next Walt Disney World vacation.

You can certainly use your old Magic Bands from previous visits for your next trip. Check your My Disney Experience account to be sure they are still active. When they initially brought the Magic Bands out for use they did tell guests that the battery life was about two years. I do know that some guests have been using theirs longer.

I personally prefer to upgrade and get new ones with my vacations. I like to have one of each color active so I can match with my wardrobe for each day. It is a little silly but yet a fun way to use the colors.  Also note that the new Magic Bands are slightly different now. They have a wider face that can actually come off and be used with a key lanyard type thing. Some guests like the new ones and others prefer using the old style.

It might be fun to have a new one and an old one and you can use both on your vacation. When I order a new one I also personalize it to include my name and the year so I know exactly when I got each one.
