My grown daughters (25 and 29) will be participating in the Marathon 2013 (January). I would like to give them two nights in a Disney resort for their Holiday gift. Prefer moderate or value prices. Which resort would you recommend for young adults?

    Hi Carol!

What a lovely gift to give to your daughters! They're going to have so much fun together at the Walt Disney World Marathon!

I'd most highly recommend a resort that allows them a central location and easy access to the Downtown Disney Area. My two top picks at the moderate pricing level would be the Port Orleans Resorts - either the Riverside or French Quarter locations. With their very central location on property and the convenient and fun boat to Downtown Disney, these are great choices.

Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter is small and quaint with just 1 bus stop, making transportation a breeze. It's my #1 pick for myself and my family.

Just up the river is Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside. Though a little larger in scale and with multiple bus stops, the conveniences and amenities here are also stellar. A fun additional 'perk' at this location, if it appeals to you for your girls, is the Royal Room. On this link, click the 'Photos' button and choose the fourth photo over to see the room with it's beautiful headboards featuring fibre-optic fireworks that can be turned on or off. The theming and décor in these rooms is fit for royalty, and be just what you'd like to spoil your Princesses with! For just a minimal additional nightly upgrade charge, they're a fun little surprise to throw in!

I welcome you to write me back if I can provide you with any additional assistance. I'd love to hear from you again.

Wishing your daughters a Magical time at the marathon! I hope they are thrilled by their fabulous gift from you!
