My grown autistic daughters want to travel to WDW independently. They did great on a family vacation last year. What time of year has the lowest crowds, but isn't too hot? Moderate resort or Pop Century; why?

    Hi Rochelle,

I love that your daughters are going to venture to the Walt Disney World Resort by themselves! For the lowest crowds, you want to think about September or mid-January as the best options for low crowds and little heat.

As for resort choice, how about Port Orleans French Quarter? While I have not stayed at this property, I have stayed at its sister resort, Riverside. I say the French Quarter because it is a smaller resort and at some theme parks, it has its own bus or is the first bus stop when sharing with Riverside. This eliminates the guess work on where to get off. If they choose Riverside, I would go for the mansions at Magnolia Bend as they are located near the main building as well as two bus stops. Plus I always get lost in Alligator Bayou Bungalows:) Riveride is my favorite moderate resort especially because you are not on the bus a long time to all of the parks.

I have not had the pleasure of staying at Pop Century but Mom Panelist, Ca'Sandra, has so you could ask her thoughts on this resort.

    Wishing them a magical vacation!
