There will be a group of twelve going for 8 days and will be there for the 4th of July. We decided to go to WDW on the 3rd and the 4th. One is this a good idea to be at WDW on a holiday and two where is the best place to be to see a great firework show?

    Ray,

If your idea of "good idea" is to be in a very popular and VERY crowded place, then yes it is.  :-)  I say that somewhat sarcastically, but please be aware that this is one of the most crowded times of the year to visit WDW.

At crowded times like this, Epcot is often one of the better parks to visit, because it handles the crowds much better (it has higher capacity).  But, make no mistake, all of the parks will be crowded.

On the positive side, the parks will be open long hours, and there will be many non-attraction activities (street entertainers, etc.) going on to keep the crowds entertained.  If you like that type of atmosphere, you might just find the experience simply grand.

To watch the firework, I would recommend you consider watching them from outside the parks.  I personally like watching the Magic Kingdom fireworks from the beach in front of the Polynesian Resort, since the music from the parks is piped in to there (listen for the speakers in the bushes), and you have a nice view overlooking the lagoon.
