A Ride in the Teacups

If we are a group with small children do we have to stand in line twice or can half the party go on and then the other half?

    Hey there, Alyssa!

Thanks for visiting us here on the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your great question. Disneyland Resort is so accommodating to families with children of all ages. You will find that there are an abundance of attractions that the entire family can enjoy together. Classics such as Peter Pan's Flight, "it's a small world," Dumbo the Flying Elephant, and Mad Tea Party are just a few you can experience with even the littlest Guests. When it comes to more thrilling attractions or those with height requirements your children do not meet, Disneyland Resort has you covered with its amazing Rider Switch Service.

The Rider Switch Service allows families the opportunity to take turns waiting with little ones on certain attractions, giving them a FASTPASS to bypass the standby queue when the other half of the party wants to ride. This means if mom rides Space Mountain, Dad and a little one won't have to wait in line. Dad can utilize Rider Switch so that when mom is done, she can switch with dad and he can enter through the FASTPASS queue when it is his turn. We have made use of this service many times with our toddler, and it has been so convenient. To take advantage of this perk, make sure your entire party, including little ones, walk up to the Cast Member at the queue entrance. Let them know you'd like to use the Rider Switch Service and he or she will explain how to use it while giving the waiting party their return time.

I hope this helps, and please feel free to return back with any other questions as you plan your INCREDIBLE vacation!
