If I get in a group to ride The Rise of the Resistance, but my grandson is in the middle of making his lightsaber, how long will I have to make it to my ride? I don’t want to miss my group to ride

Galactic greetings, Cathy, and thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel on your way to Batuu! I just returned from a visit to this galaxy far, far away, and I had a blast becoming one of the newest recruits for the Resistance! I can’t wait for you to experience the thrill of this unique attraction!

It looks like you may have already embarked on your exciting journey, but just in case, I’d love to help you with your plans. First, here’s a helpful blog post from the Disney Parks Blog to help prepare you for nabbing a Boarding Group in order to attempt to ride Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. I recommend arriving about an hour before park opening to have enough time to scan into Disneyland Park in order to grab a Boarding Group as soon as the park opens. You can check Park Hours here so you can plan accordingly.

I can understand your concern regarding your Boarding Group being called at the same time as your grandson’s reservation at Savi’s Workshop – Handbuilt Lightsabers. But, I’m here to tell you not to worry! Once your Boarding Group is called, you’ll have a block of time (up to approximately two hours) to return to the entrance of Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance for this epic adventure. Luckily, your grandson’s experience at Savi’s Workshop shouldn’t take longer than about 20-30 minutes, so, even if your Boarding Group gets called before his reservation, you should still have plenty of time to return to the attraction. I recommend keeping an eye on the Boarding Groups throughout the day by using the Disneyland app, or the helpful Boarding Group Boards located throughout Disneyland Park. That way, you’ll have an idea where the Boarding Group process is when your grandson is about to head in for his reservation at Savi’s Workshop. If you're at all concerned that you may be cutting it too close, mention the potential issue to one of the Cast Members upon check-in at Savi's Workshop to find out what they recommend.

At Savi's Workshop, the experience area is limited to the builder and two Guests, with at least one person in the party being age 14 or older. So, perhaps you can join along and watch as your grandson experiences this unforgettable Star Wars moment!

Afterward, be sure to stop by the Milk Stand to declare your allegiance to Team Blue Milk or Team Green Milk… I’m definitely Team Blue Milk!

May the Force be with you, Cathy, and I hope you have the time of your life in Batuu!
