In our group is my parents, on their first Disney trip, that are older and my father is mobility challenged. My mother is a fierce cancer survivor, but does need frequent breaks. I want to find the best things to plan for them for an awesome trip.

    Hi Brandi,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am delighted to help you plan your parents' first trip to the Walt Disney World Resort!

First, I suggest you make all of your plans with geography in mind. When you make your Fast Pass+ selections and dining reservations, make them in the same general vicinity. In Magic Kingdom, for example, we will start with a ride like Space Mountain and then do Tomorrowland Speedway. We then might grab a smoothie at Auntie Gravity's Galactic Goodies.

Second, since your dad has mobility challenges, I suggest that you review the Services for Guests with Disabilities. My husband has a mobility disability. On the first day we arrive to a park, we register him for the Disability Access Service. With this service, we can request a return time for a ride or attraction so that he does not have to wait in line for the ride. Any of us can request the return time from a cast member at the entrance to the ride. But, once we return to ride, he has to scan his MagicBand first, then the girls and I can ride with him.

Since we love food and rest breaks, we typically make dining reservations for lunch in the parks. Two of our favorite restaurants are Coral Reef in Epcot and 50's Prime Time Café in Disney's Hollywood Studios. Be sure to take advantage of mobile ordering when you can! Just download the My Disney Experience Mobile App.

Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
