So for the gratuity that Disney recommends per person is that amount for the entire stay per person or amount per person per dining experience? I just want to prepare and make sure I’m budgeting that amount and not under pay for gratuity.

    Welcome aboard, Debby Ann!

Each time my family and I sail with Disney Cruise Line, we encounter more and more amazing Cast Members who truly go "to infinity and beyond" to make our vacations so magical! I just know that you'll find the same when you head out to sea with Captain Mickey and his crew!

There are a couple of ways to pay your gratuities to your Stateroom Host, Dining Server, Assistant Dining Server and Head Server. First of all, you're welcome to pre-pay these by using the traditional gratuity amount, and calling ahead to Disney Cruise Line's agents to pay this prior to sailing. Secondly, the tips can be automatically charged to your stateroom account at the end of the sailing. This will happen if you haven't pre-paid or made other arrangements with Guest Services. We always do it that way. Then, we tuck extra cash into the little tip envelopes that we receive on the last night, and give that to the Cast Members who have served us so well, along with the little receipts that are provided with the envelopes showing the amount charged. Or, we swing by Guest Services to adjust how much is charged by adding extra for certain Cast Members who really have been the best of the best! Of course, you're the one who gets to determine how much to tip, so feel free to stop by Guest Services at any point to adjust the amount charged. The traditional gratuity amount is based on how long you sail, and it's based on cruise length. For example, for a seven night cruise, it's traditional to tip your stateroom host $31.50 per person, which breaks down to $4.50 per night per person, for a total of $31.50 for the cruise for one guest. If you have four guests in your stateroom, it would be traditional to tip your stateroom host $126 total for that seven night sailing.

I hope that helps as you prepare for this exciting adventure, Debby Ann! Please stop back again as you continue to count down to the big sail date! We're happy to help!
