I (grandmother) am planning for family of 15 a 3 day visit to Disney Parks but not staying at a Disney resort. Advice on a “Must Do” list to start? Have magic bands from 2015. (A Disney rep planned that trip) Can batteries be replaced? A 3 day hopper best

Hi Barbara and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Thanks for sending me your question about your upcoming trip! When you’re a party of 15, it’s definitely the more the merrier!

A few important things to know about your MagicBands are that the batteries usually last about two years and they cannot be replaced. If bands are something you would like your party to have, they can always be purchased online, or from the Shop Disney Parks app. Character bands may be fun gifts for your grandchildren before your trip. Maybe the Easter bunny can drop them in their baskets?

You can never go wrong with a day at the Magic Kingdom Park! If you haven’t been to the new Fantasyland, you’re in for a treat! You can race through a diamond mine while riding The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train on a swaying family coaster or enjoy a ride Under the Sea on the Journey of The Little Mermaid.

You will want to experience Pandora- The World of Avatar at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park. What left the biggest impression on me were the smells of the exotic plants within the Valley of Moara! Avatar Flight of Passage and the Na’vi River Journey are some must-do attractions in this new world.

A 3-day Park Hopper is a great choice and you will want to buy your tickets at least one month in advance. That way you can link them to your My Disney Experience account to make your FastPass+ reservations 30 days before your trip. If you purchased MagicBands you will also want to link those to your account.

Barbara, I hope I’ve given you a few ideas. Please feel free to drop by again if you have any more questions.
