Grandma/Grandpa questions.. taking our 2 1/2 year old grandson. Best places to go for him? I also hear about a pontoon ride rental and viewing the fireworks.. can someone elaborate on that. Is it best to order tickets online before you go? Or there?

Hi Teri! I spend a lot of time in your beautiful state watching the Packers and since I am also a grandma it seemed perfect to help you with your question.

I would definitely order your tickets before you go and set up a My Disney Experience account. This way you can link your tickets to your account and have the opportunity to get the Fastpasses 60 or 30 days in advance depending on if you are a resort guest. Your 2 1/2 year old grandson will not need a ticket as long as he has not turned 3 by the time of your visit.

The Magic Kingdom park will be the highlight of your visit. Your grandson will love so many of the wonderful rides from Its A Small World to Dumbo. There is so much to do there for the very young and the grandma's and grandpa's have just as much fun! You can check out all the attractions at the Disney website, www.disneyworld.com before you go to make a plan and select your three fastpasses per day.

I also enjoy taking my grandchildren to Animal Kingdom as they love animals and there are so many they can see there. Be sure and take the Safari ride and enjoy the great Lion King Show. It's a Bugs Life can be a bit scary for the young so if you go sit in the back on the left side.  Also head to Rafiki's Planet Watch by train. Here your grandson can brush some of the resident sheep or perhaps touch an exotic animal the animal experts have out that day. Make sure you also take the animal trails to see the gorillas and tigers. All of the parks will have lots of fun things to do for all ages so it depends on how much time you have to spend there.

The Fireworks cruises are wonderful. For the Wishes show you can reserve a pontoon boat with captain from any of the Seven Seas Lagoon or Bay Lake resorts. They will give you a ride and then anchor in front of the Magic Kingdom to give you a great view of the show. For the Epcot Illuminations show you can rent a pontoon boat at the Yacht Club resort. Call 407-WDW-PLAY 180 days in advance. Enjoy!
