My granddaughter ( 2years) will be flying into Orlando for a visit with us. Mom is 6 months pregnant and wants to wait until later for her first time experience of Disney. Was hoping to at least do a character meal with her. Any outside the parks?

    Hi Cheri,

A character meal is a fabulous way to expose your granddaughter to the wonders of Walt Disney World.

You have several choices outside the theme parks. 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian offers the Supercalifragilistic Breakfast with Mary Poppins, Winnie the Pooh and more. Or enjoy Cinderella's Happily Ever After dinner there.

At the Contemporary resort, you can eat with Chef Mickey and his pals for breakfast, brunch or dinner daily. At 'Ohana in the Polynesian Village Resort, Lilo and Stitch host other Disney friends at the Best Friends Breakfast. At Cape May Cafe in the Beach Club resort, you can enjoy Minnie's Beach Bash Breakfast with Minnie and her friends.

Finally, for something a little different, take a look at Mickey's Backyard BBQ at the Fort Wilderness resort. The barbecue features Mickey, Minnie and friends, plus music and other entertainment. Plus, Fort Wilderness is a fun place to visit with its pony rides, wagon rides and playgrounds.

Because the character meals are extremely popular, I strongly suggest making advanced dining reservations for whichever experience you choose, Cheri.

I hope this helps. Enjoy offering your granddaughter her first taste of Walt Disney World!
