    Barbara from MI Asked

what are some good viewing areas at Epcot for the Illuminations with seating. I missed fastpass. We are 68 yr with some difficulty walking & standing a lot at a time esp at end of a long day at Epcot.. Do we qualify for disabled area?

Hi Barbara! Illuminations: Reflections of Earth is my favorite night time spectacular show on property. It is a tough one though to watch from a seat. There are occasional benches around the lagoon but generally this is a stand and view show. Even with the FastPass most guests will be standing or sitting on the concrete to watch.

I have two suggestions that might interest you but they will add to your vacation budget. The very best way to watch Illuminations is to book an Illuminations Specialty Cruise. This is a pontoon boat with pilot that you can reserve for special viewing of Illuminations. They depart from the Yacht Club marina and take you for a leisurely cruise down to Hollywood Studios and back before docking under the bridge in Epcot. You can add food and drink through private dining but they offer sodas and snacks as part of the cruise. Each boat can set sail with up to 10 persons so you can invite friends or just use it as a romantic evening yourself.

A second idea is to book and reserve the Illuminations Dessert Party. This offers you some seating while you enjoy special sweet treats concocted by some of the great Epcot chefs. Again this is an added expense but an enjoyable and stress free way to enjoy this show.

If you don't wish to book something special then try scouting out a bench well in advance of the show time. They will go quickly. The handicap areas are generally reserved for those guests in wheelchairs and scooters. Always ask cast members for their assistance while you are there!
