What is a good short term activity for all the adult "girls" (while the guys watch the kids) to sneak away for in an afternoon or evening?

I like the way you think! Having the guys watch the kids is always something a smart woman works into her vacation plans ;-)

I don't know the temperament of the ladies or budget for your "girl time," so I'll just throw out some ideas and hopefully something will sound appealing:

    > Spa treatments. Several of the deluxe and vacation club resorts have full service spas. You can gab while getting mani-pedis or massages. I'd choose the Spa at Saratoga Springs. Contact them at 407-827-4455 for a full list of services and pricing.

    > Ladies tea at the Garden View Lounge at the Grand Floridian. Very refined finger sandwiches, pastries, and tea (plus a glass of champagne if you're in the mood). Follow-up with a walk through some of the boutiques at the Floridian.

    > Dancing at Atlantic Dance. This Boardwalk nightspot is open until 2:00 a.m.!

    > Shopping at Downtown Disney. 'Nuff said.

    > Gourmet dinner at a signature dining restaurant. I'd choose Artist Point in the Wilderness Lodge or Jiko in the Animal Kingdom Lodge.

    > Tour the World Showcase. Choose a theme and visit each of Epcot's 11 countries with that theme in mind. For example, have a drink or dessert in each country. Buy a small souvenir from each country (trading pins and chocolate bars are popular choices.)

    > Go Parasailing. Flights leave from the Contemporary resort. Call 407-939-0754 for reservations. SO MUCH FUN!

    > Take a behind the scenes tour of WDW. Call 407-WDW-TOUR for information about how to see the backstage areas and learn how WDW really works.

I hope you and your friends (and the kids and the guys) all have a wonderful visit to WDW.
