There are many good reasons to book at a Disney resort and we plan on 4 days there, but we are also planning to spend 2 days in the Cocoa beach/NASA area. Do you think it is more convenient to separate these as far as lodging is concerned?

    Hi Richard!

You've picked two great vacation areas to visit!

Cocoa Beach and Cape Canaveral are just a little over an hour from Walt Disney World on a normal travel day with little traffic. The quickest travel route I've used does involve some tolls, although there could be alternate routes.

Personally, I usually prefer to split the hotel stays at each location so that I can maximize the time at both destinations. However, staying at a Disney hotel and traveling to Cape Canaveral is certainly an option. I'd definitely consider staying at a Disney resort if you think you'll have time to visit some of the attractions like the Boardwalk or Downtown Disney at night (or if you'll be able to take advantage of Extra Magic Hours for a late night at a park).

Hope you have a great trip!
