Is it a good idea to plan dinning for Akhersus for breakfast and supper? Are they the same experiences? My daughter loves princesses so we are planning to go to as many princess character dinning as possible.

    Hi Aileen,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for your question. There certainly is no shortage of royal experiences for princess-loving children at Walt Disney World Resort, and my kids absolutely adored Akershus Royal Banquet Hall – so much that we have dined there multiple times.

The main difference between breakfast and dinner at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall is the menu. At both meals, you will be invited to visit the buffet, which offers a variety of meats, cheeses, and Norwegian specialties. Breakfast is served family style, with platters of eggs, meat, and an amazingly delicious potato casserole. At dinner, Guests order individual entrees, which are mostly Norwegian-style. This is where palate comes in: my husband and I loved dinner, while my parents really preferred the more “American style” fare at breakfast. I advise checking out the menus to get a sense of what might work best for your family.

Other than food, the experience will be the same regardless of the time of your reservation. The princesses who appear at the meal vary, so there is a chance you could meet the same royal line-up if you had two reservations in the same trip. My children love the opportunity to meet princesses right at their table, and there is also a fabulous royal procession that takes place during each meal.

Aileen, if you’d like more variety, another great princess meal is the Bon Voyage Adventure Breakfast, where Rapunzel and Flynn Ryder appear along with Ariel and Prince Eric. This breakfast, located at Trattoria al Forno in Disney’s BoardWalk area, is really magical and delicious, and I love its emphasis on Princesses as brave and adventurous!

    Wishing you a magical vacation,
    Robyn
