Is this a good game plan for my 3yr old? Go to parks at opening. Have lunch. Go back to All Star Music for nap & swim (naps are sometimes 2hrs plus) then go to dinner (we have the Deluxe DDP) then head to extra magic hours park. Thanks.

You absolutely should have a game plan when going to Walt Disney World with younger children. We have used this same plan for years. We always get to the parks PRIOR to their opening time. You want to position yourselves at the gates early to make the most of the morning. You’ll accomplish more attractions in the morning than at other times of the day.

Taking an afternoon break is ideal. We still take breaks so the whole family can be refreshed for the evening. This is most important during the busier (and hotter) season. It’s a bit more difficult to plan in the off-season when parks close early but we’ve still found this strategy very useful.

Heading to the Extra Magic Hours (EMH) park will give you more time in the evening, but the time you’ll gain will be spent in longer lines. The Extra Magic Hour evening park is usually the most crowded.  I would suggest heading to a different park and making use of the shorter lines. The EMH park often stays very busy until the last hour or so and that makes for a very long, tiring evening. Best wishes!
