Hi Martha,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am pleased to know that we have another possible recruit to bring peace to the galaxy!
Having done rope drop and a pre-park opening breakfast reservation, I would definitely recommend a pre-park opening reservation at Disney's Hollywood & Vine so that you can enter the park early and secure a time for
Jedi Training - Trials of the Temple. The last time we visited, we had a breakfast reservation for 8:45 a.m. and the park opened at 9:00 a.m. We arrived at the park by 8:30 a.m. and by the time we got close to the Indiana Jones Adventure Outpost, they were starting sign-ups. We signed the girls up before eating breakfast.
Even if you have to take your seat for breakfast first, the sign-up location is very close to the restaurant, so one parent or guardian can take the recruit(s) to sign-up then return to finish breakfast. Just remember that your recruit(s) has to be with you to sign-up for training.
By the time the park opens, it takes just a few minutes and the line for sign-ups is LONG. We have literally been there at rope drop, run to sign-up and by the time we could register, they were already on afternoon times. If you do rope-drop, remember that, with bags, it will take you longer to get through the entrance point at the park. The last time we did rope-drop, I gave my backpack to my mom, the girls and I went through the shorter line and then we ran to the sign-up location.
Martha, also remember your Fast Pass+ and
dining reservations when accepting a training time. It can get complicated but, your soon to be Jedi could use the Force to assist.
May the Force be with you!
Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
Donyell
