Hi we would like to go to the sea of lights with special dining using our meal plan. What is the best restaurant to book and how many meal vouchers would this be please? Any recommendations for special dining with an 8 and 13 year old? Many thanks lesley

    Hi Lesley,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Clearly you are planning an amazing holiday for your family at the Walt Disney World Resort.

If you are considering the Rivers of Light Dining Package, I highly recommend it. We did the Rivers of Light Dining Package on our last visit with Tusker House Restaurant. Tusker House requires one table-service meal credit on a Disney dining plan for breakfast, lunch and dinner. At the time, our girls were almost 11-years old and we all adored the characters. Safari Donald was super cute and the food was fabulous! At dinner, we received our tickets for the reserved seating area of the show.

The ticket indicated that we should arrive 15-35 minutes prior to the show. We managed to make a fourth Fast Pass+ selection in between dinner and the show. While we had a great time riding DINOSAUR, we were running to get to our seats for the show and arrived exactly 15 minutes prior to show time. Even so, we were able to get seats at the end of the third row in the reserved seating area and had a terrific view.

Given the ages of your children, I would also recommend Cinderella's Royal Table, Akershus Royal Banquet Hall, 1900 Park Fare, 'Ohana, and Chef Mickey's. Our girls also love breakfast at The Crystal Palace. On our last visit, we had a perfect view of Cinderella Castle from our window table at the restaurant!

Lesley, to verify how many meal credits a restaurant requires on a dining plan, go to the restaurant's official website and click on the link that says "Some Dining Plans Accepted" (on the right-hand side of the page). A pop-up chart should appear that displays the dining plan requirements.

Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
