can you use a go pro on the slides?

    Ahoy, Debi!

It sounds like you have a Disney Cruise Line vacation on the horizon, and are looking forward to making some magical memories onboard!

The pools on the Disney ships have been a source of fun and entertainment for my family since our first Disney Cruise, when my kiddos were only big enough to enjoy the water play areas for little buccaneers! As my girls have gotten older, they spend their pool time enjoying the water slides, and their very favorite is the AquaDuck (featured on the Disney Dream and the Disney Fantasy).

If you visit the Disney Cruise Line website, you'll only see swim masks and snorkel equipment listed as prohibited items on the water slides. That being said, I've personally been asked to remove my sunglasses and ball cap before, and I've seen guests be turned away with cell phones and other items when trying to board the slide. The rules about GoPros are always changing, so I wouldn't want to give you an answer that could possibly change before your sailing. I know that a guest wouldn't be allowed to hold any type of camera in their hand, without it being secured to their body. Cast Members commonly screen guests at the slide entry for any items that need to be left on the pool deck.

Once you're onboard, you can check in with the Pool Staff and ask if you'll be able to film your adventures on the Disney Cruise Line water slides. My fingers are crossed that with the proper equipment to secure your camera, you'll be allowed to use it!
