When I go to guest services with my autistic child do I need any sort of doctors not or written documentation from home to bring with me

There are varying levels of Guest Assistance Pass available at WDW. Doctors notes are not required to get a Guest Assistance Pass, however in circumstances where a guests' challenge might not be readily apparent (such as with autism) a doctor's note can be helpful to the Disney staff in determining what type of assistance a guest might need. Again, a doctor's note is not necessary, but it never hurts to have one.

A great resource for you is a book called PassPorter's Open Mouse for Walt Disney World and the Disney Cruise Line. This sells for approximately $20 and is available through amazon.com and many larger bookstores. Open Mouse gives incredibly detailed information for Disney guests with any sort of challenge, from anxiety to allergies and everything in between, including autism. If you get this book before your trip, you'll be able get your plan together in advance of your arrival so you'll be completely prepared to have a great vacation.

If you have more questions, you might want to direct them specifically to Moms Panelist Tanya (you can do this throughout the Meet the Moms button at the top of the page). She has traveled to WDW many times with her children, one of whom has autism.

    Good luck with your planning!
