We would like to go to Disney this year. We live near Toronto, Canada. We would like to travel when it's the best price possible due to limited budget. We have 4 children between ages of 8, 5, 2 and 5 mos. What do you recommend that we consider? thanks!

    Hi Lavinia,

Thanks so much for stopping by the Moms Panel! We are a frugal family, so I can relate to you planning a fantastic Walt Disney World vacation while on a limited budget. There are great ways you can save on your vacation. While I won't be able to list all of them in this little answer box, here are a few great ones I can think of right at this moment:
    • Stay at a Disney Value Resort Hotel. We love to stay at the Value Resorts since you get the magic of Disney without breaking your vacation budget. For your large family, I would look into the family suites at All-Star Music Resort or Art of Animation Resort. If the price of the suite still can't fit into your budget, keep in mind that children under 3 years old aren't counted toward the Guest count in your room, so you'll be able to book a smaller room. But, with a family of 6, I'm sure you'll want to be able to have as much space as possible. Either way, you have some choices.
    • Follow the Walt Disney World social media channels and the Disney Parks blog. Special offers are released all year round for Guests. Each year, I've even seen special offers for Canadians and other out-of-country guests.
    • Visit during less crowded times of year. Spring break in the U.S. is usually scheduled in the months of March and April, so these months are pretty busy and prices for accommodations tend to rise. If you don't mind a vacation at the end of summer, or beginning of winter after the holidays, then you'll save tremendously.

I hope these tips help you in your planning, Lavinia. If you have any more questions about planning a Disney vacation on a budget, feel free to ask me at any time. I'm here to help.
