Mom And Kids Mickey Ice Cream Bar

Given the new rule against loose ice in the parks and the encouragement to bring reusable ice packs, is there an option to request a freezer in my Disney hotel room? My reusable ice packs are useless if I can’t freeze them back at the hotel each night.

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Cainna!

You’ll be arriving at Walt Disney World Resort TOMORROW! How awesome is THAT!? I’m so, so excited for you to be right in the middle of the magic in just a matter of hours!

You’re absolutely right that the updated Walt Disney World Resort Park Rules do prohibit the use of loose ice in coolers, and that most resort room refrigerators do not have freezer sections. Freezers are not available upon request at this time, but you will find ice machines located in each resort. I recommend bringing large resealable bags and filling those with ice cubes, which you can then use in your cooler. Cups of ice are available at theme park Quick-Service dining locations, so you’ll be able to refresh your ice as needed. You’ll also be able to request ice water at these locations, which is great for staying hydrated in the summer sun.

One other tip: be sure to check those Park Rules to be sure your cooler is within the acceptable dimensions. This will help the bag check process go smoothly when you arrive, and get you on your way to your amazing theme park day.

Cainna, I hope you have the BEST time at Walt Disney World Resort! Now, more than ever, it’s an amazing time to visit, with so much going on all around the theme parks, resorts, and Disney Springs. As you count down the minutes, be sure to read the Disney Parks Blog for the latest news – you may spot a drink, treat, or attraction to add to your must-do list. You’re so close, I can taste the Dole Whips!

    Wishing you a magical vacation,
