    Alaine from CA Asked

Do they still give free short tours of some of the countries in World Showcase? If so, which countries and how does it work? Thanks!

    Hi Alaine,

There are an abundance of hidden treasures to be found in the World Showcase pavilions of Epcot.  According to a number of independent fan sites, there are still free tours offered periodically in several of the pavilions.  Allears.net, for instance, describes Treasures of Morocco - a free 45 minute tour emphasizing the culture, history, and people of this beautiful country.  The Times Guides do not appear to list the start times for these tours so your best bet would be to stop by Guest Services (to the left of Spaceship Earth as you enter the park) or go directly to the pavilion to inquire about the schedule and availability for these tours.

There are also wonderful tours of World Showcase with a fee attached.  Last month my students and I took the Around the World at Epcot Segway tour.  After we learned how to use the Segway personal transporter, a member of the Epcot Guest Relations team took us through World Showcase before it was open to other guests.  It is such a magical experience to be in this part of the park before formal opening time.  Along our journey, the Cast Member stopped at several of the country pavilions to share fascinating details about the nations these pavilions represent.

If you are a fan of flowers, you may want to consider signing up for the Gardens of the World tour.  This tour is less expensive than the Segway tour mentioned above but it affords you three hours with a horticultural specialist who will explain how the magical landscapes of Epcot are transformed during the annual Flower and Garden Festival.

You can sign up for the tours with fees by calling (407) WDW-PLAY.

Wishing you a magical visit to World Showcase!
