Can you give me some details about the Horse and Carriage rides at POR? How much do they cost, how long do they last, what time of night is best, and do I need to make reservations before we arrive? Want to surprise Daddy with a little Mom and Dad time!

Hi Susan! The Port Orleans carriage rides last about 25 minutes. The carriages can hold four adults or two adults and three small children. Reservations are highly recommended ahead of time by calling WDW-PLAY but there can be some available on a night you are there. You just don't want to be disappointed and not be able to do one because you don't have that advance reservation.

The rides start about 6pm and the last ride departs at 9:30pm. You pick it up in front of Boatwrights Dining Hall. The cost for the ride is $45 and cash or room charges are accepted but not credit cards. The driver will take care of the payment. You will be charged for a no show so make sure you are able to do this before reserving one. Carriage rides may be canceled due to weather at no penalty to you.

Although I have not done the carriage ride at Port Orleans we often do them at Fort Wilderness and love them as a nice change of things to do at Walt Disney World!
