    Myrna from CA Asked

I gifted annual passes for my daughter and her family just recently. My daughter wants to activate their pass this month (April) on her birthday which is not a blockout date. Can the annual pass be used on 6/1 which is a blockout date? A family reunion.

    Hi there, Myrna!

Thanks so much for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with this great question. How generous that you gave the gift of a magical year of Disneyland Resort visits to your daughter and her family! It is definitely the gift that keeps on giving.

Once a Disneyland Resort Annual Passport is activated, you cannot enter the park on a blockout date for your specific pass type using your Annual Passport. There are two ways you can still visit the parks on a blockout date, though. First, you can purchase a single or multi-day ticket separately from your Annual Passport to gain park admission on this day. Another option to consider is upgrading your Annual Passport to the higher level that does not have that specific date blocked out. This will then allow you to visit on other dates in the future that you normally would be blocked out from. With higher level Passports also come more benefits like greater discounts on dining, merchandise, parking, and Disney MaxPass.

This is such an exciting year to be a Passholder with the grand opening of the highly-anticipated land, Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge this summer. This out-of-this-world addition to Disneyland Park brings never-before-seen technology, creative cuisine, interactive merchandise, and a fully-immersive Star Wars experience unlike anything in the world. Keep in mind that if you plan on visiting this land on June 1, 2019, a no-cost reservation must be made to gain access to this land during this time. Keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog for more details about this process in the coming weeks.

I hope this helps, and have a Fantasmic day!
