We want to gift a trip to Disney using our points for a family that are not members. Can they use our points without us being there?

    Hi Merri!

How generous that you would like to give the gift of Disney magic to your family! You most certainly can make them a reservation as your guest using your Disney Vacation Club Vacation Points. You do not need to be staying with them, and you can put the entire reservation in their name. They will then be able to link the reservation number with their own My Disney Experience account and manage their entire trip just like any other Walt Disney World Guest.

Although the reservation is a Disney Vacation Club reservation, they would not be eligible for special perks or discounts that are available to Disney Vacation Club Members, since that would require them to show their Disney Vacation Club Membership Card. This would include things like discounts on dining or special tours. They would still however receive all the benefits of all Walt Disney World Resort Guests such as Extra Magic Hours, Disney’s Magical Express and Magic Bands.

I’m sure your family will be thrilled with your gift magical family memories than can be made on a Disney Vacation Club vacation. Send them to visit us here on the Disney Parks Moms Panel as they plan their vacation if they have any questions we can help them with!

    Wishing you Membership Magic!

A lifelong Disney fan, joining Disney Vacation Club opened a world of vacation possibilities for our family of six. I’ve traveled with young children and those young at heart, groups both large and small, and during every season of the year. Whether meeting a Disney Princess, training to be a Jedi or dining with Mickey, our family enjoys it all. For this nurse, every day is better with a little dose of Disney! Learn More About Kate
