I am getting at least a 4-day park hopper pass for this military deal they've got going on. I want to do maybe one day at Universal Studios while I'm there. How can I get the most out of this first trip with a 4 day pass?

    Welcome back Michelle!

I'm so pleased to hear that you will have park hopper passes for your upcoming trip.  These tickets will give you the utmost flexibility during your vacation.

How many nights will you be staying with Disney?  In a perfect scenario, you would have five or six nights reserved for your vacation because that would give you four days to spend in the Disney parks and then another day or two in the middle of your stay to explore Downtown Disney or simply relax.

Here's how I would use your park passes:

First full day of your vacation:  Arrive at the Disney park which offers morning Extra Magic Hours.  See the most popular attractions early in the day while lines are the shortest.  Enjoy an early lunch in the parks and then head back to your resort so your youngest children can nap and your oldest kids can kick back at the resort pool.  After everyone is rested, head back to either the same theme park from earlier in the day or try one of the others since you have a park hopper pass.  You may want to choose the theme park that offers evening Extra Magic Hours.

Day 2:  Arrive at a different Disney theme park from day one, hopefully one that offers morning Extra Magic Hours.

Day 3:  Visit Downtown Disney or other area attractions.

Day 4:  Head to a Disney theme park you have not yet explored.  Remember to take a break mid-day to keep everyone rested and happy.

Day 5:  Visit the only remaining theme park you have yet to explore in the morning and then spend your final evening in your family's favorite Disney theme park.  Cap off your vacation with a magical fireworks presentation.

Thanks for your question, Michelle.  It has been delightful helping you plan your family's vacation.
