Is getting a FastPass+ for the fireworks worth it? There are so many other things we want to do and see as well.

    Hi Kimberly!

The all new FastPass+ is my favorite part of My Magic+.  Being able to pre-select FastPass+ even before we step into the theme parks helps my family build the magical anticipation of vacation.

You are exactly on the mark when you say there are so many things to see and do in Walt Disney World.  Typically when new Guests ask which attractions they should pick for FastPass+ I tell them to pick the ones that are on the top of their list.  That way they have the peace of mind knowing they are going to experience their "must-do's" and everything else will be magical extras.  However in the case of Wishes, IllumiNations, or Fantasmic!, I have a caveat with my recommendation.

Wishes is an amazing must-do on the top of my list every time I visit Walt Disney World.  However part of what makes Wishes so spectacular is that if you are in the Magic Kingdom during its show time then you will have a great view.  Yes, I do have a favorite viewing spot (underneath Tinker Bell's flight path), but it is not necessary to be in the castle forecourt area to experience the magic of Wishes.  A favorite memory of mine is riding Splash Mountain with my 4 year old daughter while Wishes exploded the night sky all around us.  My daughter is 15 now and still recounts that moment.

Kimberly, since you have so many attractions on your must-do list I recommend selecting one of them for FastPass+ over Wishes, Fantasmic! and IllumiNations.  As long as you arrive in time to find a seat for Fantasmic! and a viewing spot near the World Showcase Lagoon for IllumiNations you will be fine not using a FastPass+ selection. These amazing shows are intended to thrill thousands of Guests at the same time.

    Blessings,
    Brenda ºOº
