G'Day Moms & Dads :) My husband and I are very excited to be bringing our daughter Ariel to Disneyworld for the first time! We will be staying for 2 weeks and wondering if we should bring her at 2 1/2 or 3 1/2 years of age? pros and cons between ages?

    Hi Kelly,

You have a great question about when the ideal age is to bring your child for a visit Walt Disney World.  Of course the decision is up to you, but if I personally had the choice I would bring Ariel before she was 3 years old for several reasons.  The first reason is that children under 3 are Guests of Mickey Mouse and do not need a theme park ticket which can save a lot of money when purchasing multi-day theme park tickets.  The next reason is because children under 3 may dine for free!  When dining at buffets they receive their own plate and drink at no charge to you. When dining at other locations they may simply share your plate.  Finally, after bringing my own four children to the Disney Parks and Disney Cruise Line I have never regretted waiting until they were older for a visit.  These years seem to pass all too quickly and the memories that we make together with our children are forever cherished.  As I like to explain, will your 1 year old remember the details of their first birthday party? Will they remember that you cuddled and told them that you loved them every day?  Probably not, but you certainly will remember and cherish those memories.

As far as I can see, there aren't any cons to bringing a child of 2 1/2 or 3 1/2 to visit Walt Disney World.  Since there are so many things to see and do for every age and height, every visit is magical in its own way.  Although my 15 year old and 5 year old experience different things, they both have equally magical vacations.

I hope this helps you with your decision.  No matter when you decide to visit, it will be one filled with magic and memories that will last a lifetime.

    Blessings,
