I had gastric bypass surgery recently and cannot eat much, I would like to know if the resturants will let me order off the childrens menu.

For buffets, dinner shows and/or character meals, you will have to pay the adult price. You are being charged more for the entertainment than the food.

While the kid’s menu states ages 3-9, the servers at Walt Disney World are very accommodating. Often, I order a kid’s meal at the counter service venues.

Many adults at WDW choose to order from the kid’s menu while dining at table service restaurants. You won’t be the first one to ask. Don’t hesitate to order menu items that are best suited for your diet.

If you want the child portion, you will be charged the child price. You can also ask for an adult portion of the kid entrée, then you’ll be charged a bit more for your meal. It’s often about double the price.

If you really only want a child portion, please let your server know that it is due to dietary restrictions. If there is an issue, I would ask to speak with the Restaurant Manager. I met some of the Restaurant Managers and Chefs during the Moms Panel training. They all seemed more than willing to accommodate guest’s preferences (as well as allergies and other dietary concerns).

Also don’t feel obligated to order a full meal. You can have an appetizer and/or salad. Not only can you share a dessert with another member of your party, you can also share an entrée.

I hope you have a relaxing time while dining at Walt Disney World.
