Moms, Can Garden Grill substitute regular fries for the sweet potato fries on the kids plate? My autistic daughter's comfort foods happen to be grilled chicken drumsticks) (or nuggets), mac & cheese, and fries. I hope the restaurant is rotating!

    Hi Rochelle!

Thanks so much for asking your awesome question here on the Moms Panel. Walt Disney World Resort restaurants take pride in providing all of their Guests with delicious options during their dining experiences. Whether a Guest has a special dietary request, or just an aversion to anything but their "favorite eats," Cast Members and Chefs look forward to making each meal magical.

Your daughter shouldn't have any issue with her meal, but I do have a few suggestions for you in order to make her experience truly magical:
    • Make a note in your reservation. When you make your Advanced Dining Reservations, you are given the option to  annotate any special dietary requests needed for members of your party. You can make a note that your daughter is on the spectrum, and list the items that she will be willing to enjoy during your meal. This will give the kitchen staff a heads up, so they can make sure those items are available for her when she arrives.
    • Speak to the host or manager. The best part about speaking to the host and/or manager once you arrive for your reservation is they will more than likely to ask YOU about any dietary requests or restrictions! Every time our family has dined at a Walt Disney World Resort restaurant, we'd been asked right away about allergies and special diets.
    • Speak with the Chef. To enhance the magic of your meal, sometimes Chefs come out from the kitchen to ask your party members what they would like to eat during their meal. This is truly awesome for kids, and they feel "grown up" when they are able to choose what will be made for them in the kitchen.

I hope this answer helps you, Rochelle. If you have any other questions, please ask us anytime.

    Have a fantastical Disney day!‚Äč
