Is the GAC card avail to adult diabetics? I usually miss a lot of the Disney fun due to long lines in heat that drops my blood sugar & need to use my injectible medicines & insulin during the day but would love to enjoy this trip for my daughters s

    Hi Terryann!

Thanks for asking me a question!  Yes, a Guest Assistance Card (GAC) would be available you to get being an adult diabetic. You can get one at Guest Relations in any of the theme parks in Walt Disney World. Typically, Guest Relations are located in the front of each park. For example in the Magic Kingdom, Guest Relations is located in the Town Hall which is on the left just as you enter Main Street USA if you are facing Cinderella Castle. The Guest Assistance Card will enable you and up to five other members in your party access to alternate entrances to attractions and on most rides will let you in without having to stand up in long lines or walk long distances. The Guest Assistance Card is good in all of the four theme parks of Walt Disney World for the length of your stay, so you only have to get it once per vacation. You will need to present the Guest Assistance Card to the Cast Members at the attractions (typically you go to the Fast Pass entrance of a ride) and they will instruct you where to go. When you are getting your Guest Assistance Card, you can explain your special needs to the Guest Relations Cast Members and they will determine what type of GAC to give you (there are different GAC's depending on the nature of your special needs). You can bring a doctors notice as well, but they are not legally allowed to look at it.

Keep in mind that a Guest Assistance Card does not guarantee you immediate access to a ride or an attraction, but it helps immensely for those guests with special needs. Also be sure to ask at Guest Relations about access to refrigerators (located right at the Guest Relations location) to help keep your  injectable medicines and insulin cool while you are in the parks.

I hope that your whole family has an extra magical time on your next trip to Walt Disney World!

    Keep Dreaming Big!
