At FW I see that they rent canoes and kayaks / do they allow younger passengers to ride with adults or is it strictly over 11's?

Hi Andrew! The Fort Wilderness Resort at Walt Disney World is one of my favorite places to stay. This resort offers so many different things to see and do and it is an experience like no other.

The many recreation activities offered include the rental of Canoes and Kayaks from the Bike Barn located next to the pool. You must be 18 years of age to rent one but all ages can enjoy the fun as long as they are with an adult. The Kayaks hold two persons and the canoes can hold up to three persons. Children must wear life jackets at all times.

I love this activity and especially in the morning before the guests are moving about and heading off to the parks. You can take the canals that meander through the resort and the "trip" can take about an hour if you are going at a relaxed pace. There will be times that you won't hear another person's voice or see another guest making it truly a fun experience while vacationing at a busy Walt Disney World. You will often also see some of the local wildlife such as otters and deer. This activity is one that all ages can enjoy together.

Please remember that rentals are on a first come basis and reservations are not accepted. Have fun!
