what are some fun activities that a couple could do outside of going to the Disney World parks?

Hi Lisa, and thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with such a great question! As someone who enjoys participating in activities outside the Walt Disney World Theme Parks each trip, I would be pleased to share a couple of ideas you may wish to try on your next trip.

If you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel, check your Resort's recreation schedule for various activities which may be taking place during your stay, such as Resort tours, Movies Under the Stars, campfires, and poolside entertainment. Indeed, just a relaxing day spent poolside at your Resort is an activity which can often be overlooked.

Over at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort, adventure awaits with horseback riding at the Tri-Circle-D Ranch. The Wilderness Back Trail Adventure, a two hour segway tour, provides a fun and exhilarating way to explore the natural wilderness and landscape surrounding this beautiful Resort.

One of my favorite personal recreational activities at Walt Disney World is renting personal watercraft from Sammy Duvall's Watersports Centre at Disney's Contemporary Resort and taking a spin around the Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake.

For a relaxing and indulging pampering, try a couple's massage at the Senses Spa at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, followed by Afternoon Tea at the Garden View Tea Room.

Last, but certainly not least, one of the best ways to end a Disney Day is with a delicious meal at one of the numerous signature dining experiences on property, such as California Grill at Disney's Contemporary Resort.

Lisa, I hope this provides some "food for thought" for ideas for activities to enjoy on your next couple's trip!
