    Allison Asked

We have a full day planned in Hollywood Studios this trip early October with two girls, ages 4 and 6. What do we need to get in and what do we need to avoid for this age group?

Hi Allison (great name, by the way), you are in for a day of Hollywood glitz and glamour as well as a ton of fun. Here are my suggestions for getting the most out of it for you and your girls.

As soon as you enter the park, head for Toy Story Mania to get your FastPass. It is towards the rear of the park on Pixar Place. This is one of THE most popular attractions and the FastPasses are very important if you don't want to wait for a very long time. This ride is one of my absolute favorites in all of Walt Disney World, so I highly recommend this.

This park also offers some awesome stage shows geared toward your girls' ages. These are Voyage of the Little Mermaid, Disney Jr. - Live on Stage, now featuring Sofia the First and Doc McStuffins, and Beauty and the Beast - Live on Stage. For all of these showtimes, be sure to check the times guide when you enter the park or you can get the official Disney mobile app, My Disney Experience.

My young kids have also always gotten a kick out of watching the live interactions with the Citizens of Hollywood. While these characters appear off and on all day, no two interactions are alike. Other characters you might want to meet are various Pixar characters such as Woody, Buzz, Mike and Sulley. Sofia the First is also now greeting guests. For character schedule and times, again, check the times guide or My Disney Experience. Keep in mind that characters can change without notice.

You could probably avoid Rock 'n Roller Coaster, Tower of Terror, Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular and Star Tours since your girls either can't ride because of height restrictions or they simply aren't into these things.

Have a star-studded day at Disney's Hollywood Studios!
