Hi. Going with friends to celebrate in style at Disneyworld (our first trip ever and no kids with us). It's also our 40th birthdays. We are having a dilemma. Pirate room at Beach Carribbean or Royal Room at Port Orleans Riverside or other suggestion? HELP!

    Cynthia:

Hands-down, I'd go with a Royal Guest Room at Port Orleans: Riverside. The resort sits along the Sassagoula River and with nightly carriage rides, it's more romantic for the two of you. Caribbean Beach Resort and its pirate rooms lean toward children with families and that means more noise...

It sounds like you're looking for offerings in the moderate category. If this is your price range, also consider the Swan & Dolphin hotels before making your final decision. Both sit within walking distance of Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios. They offer larger rooms than the moderates, better bedding and room amenities in my opinion, and more adult dining choices. They share a spectacular pool with a waterfall and enjoy boat transportation to the theme parks and easy access to the nightlife of the Boardwalk. Although you aren't eligible for the Disney Dining Plan, the resort offers Disney transportation, the Extra Magic Hours benefit and resort package delivery like the other Disney resorts as well as the ability to make your FastPass+ selections at the earliest window of 60 days from your arrival.

If you have any other questions about the resorts, feel free to come back and ask!

Wishing y'all a magical vacation and a memorable 40th birthday!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
