My Friend And I want to take her son to Disney World for his 10th Birthday, which is in the middle of May... We are on a low budget but we want to make this a birthday he will never forget... I think we are staying for 3 days, any ideas would be great, TY

What a fabulous idea, Melinda!  There's no better place in the world to celebrate a boy's 10th birthday than Walt Disney World.

Be sure to stop by the Guest Relations desk as you enter your first Disney park and ask for a complimentary birthday button for your friend's son. Cast Members like to go out of their way to make guests' birthdays special.  You never know what kind of special attention he might get if he is wearing a birthday button.

Be sure to stay at a Disney resort on your trip.  That means the boy will enjoy non-stop, round-the-clock magic on his birthday vacation.  Choose one of Disney's value resorts so that you can provide this trip within the bounds of your budget.

Plan at least one character dining experience.  Then the birthday boy will be visited at the table by some of his favorite Disney characters.  Breakfasts tend to be significantly less expensive than lunches or dinners.  Therefore, scheduling a breakfast by calling (407) WDW-DINE 180 days before your trip is a great idea.

If you mention to the servers at any Disney table service restaurant that you are celebrating a birthday, they will give you the option to purchase a small birthday cake as part of your meal.  If you are looking for a larger, customized birthday cake, call the Disney cake hotline at (407) 827-2253 a few days in advance of your meal to place your order.

Let us know if you need additional suggestions to make this young man's birthday special.  If he has any special interests, please mention them in your follow-up questions as then we can customize our recommendations to his interests.

    Wishing you many magical memories!
