We’re in the frantic countdown to Disney World and Disney Cruise, with yet another question. If we are staying in a park hotel, will water be provided at the park or do we need to budget for it? We’ve got the meal plan and fast passes.

    Hi Damian,

You must be so thrilled that your land and sea adventure with Disney Cruise Line and Walt Disney World Resort are just around the corner!

I'm pleased to hear that you are thinking ahead about staying hydrated on your trip. The intake of water under the Florida sun is very important if you are to have a happy and healthy vacation. There are water fountains available for all guests in the Disney theme parks. They are often located near rest rooms, or you can simply ask the closest Cast Member to point you in the right direction. You are also welcome to ask for a complimentary glass of water at any quick-service restaurant in the park. Personally, I always bring bottled water into the parks with me in the morning. Then I can refill that bottle at water fountains as necessary.

Since you have purchased a Disney Dining Plan, you are welcome to redeem one of your snack credits for bottled water at kiosks and quick-service restaurants whenever you want. I prefer to save my snack credits for more expensive, unique treats, but you are welcome to purchase bottled non-alcoholic beverages with them if you like.

If I am traveling as part of a group to Walt Disney World Resort, I typically have a case of inexpensive bottled water delivered to my Disney Resort hotel by a grocery delivery service on our day of arrival. Then everyone in my travel party can start his or her day with a chilled (in the room refrigerator) bottle of water. This simple practice has saved my family quite a bit of money over the years.

Wishing you many magical memories on your upcoming trip,
    Jill
