We have a fp for rivers of light however, my father now requires a wheelchair to get around the parks. Is there ample wheelchair & family spots for the show? How early do we need to arrive? There are 4 of us in total & don't want to miss the show.

    Hi Beth!

The new Rivers of Light show has become a highlight of a trip to the Animal Kingdom Theme Park at Walt Disney World. It is a combination of lights, water, and music telling stories of nature. Descriptions of it don't do it justice and it is a must see experience now for the Animal Kingdom guests.

Since you have a FastPass for this you won't have to worry about the long lines or the need to get to the amphitheater an hour early. Some guests like to sit near the water but I have done both and didn't find a huge difference in the views. The earlier you arrive, the lower you will be seated. Disney suggests those with a FastPass arrive about 25 minutes early but you will be guaranteed a seat up to about 5-10 minutes before the show begins.

There are ramps leading down to the handicap areas on both sides and cast members will be there to assist you when you arrive. Let them know you are a family of four. They will allow as many as possible to stay with the handicap person but sometimes one or two of you might have to split up. All will have a seat for the show so no worries about that.

My personal advice is to arrive no later then 30 minutes before the show time. I am not keen on coming and having to rush to a show. Bringing someone with a wheelchair will also take a bit more time and you want to be stress free and not worry about the logistics.

Enjoy and don't forget to check out the new Pandora-World of Avatoar which is opening up on May 27. It is an amazing new area of the park that will simply wow you in all ways!
