We just found out that during our stay 11/3/12- 11/10/12 the Grand Floridian will have the courtyard pool closed & also Gasparilla's grill. Would we be smart to try to switch to another Disney hotel which will have all amenities open for use?

    Hi John!

The Grand Floridian is the flagship resort of the Walt Disney World Resort.  It is still a great place to stay even though some things are closed due to construction or refurbishment.  However, if you think you will definitely need Quick Service dining then you might want to consider it.  Otherwise, you will have limited options unless you use the monorail to visit another resort on the Magic Kingdom monorail line.

If you do decide to switch, I suggest staying with the monorail resorts and either switching to the Contemporary or the Polynesian.  While the theming is different among all three, I suggest going with the Contemporary as it is probably closer in terms of services and amenities to the Grand Floridian.

Good luck with your decision, and please write back with more questions!
