For FOP rider swap: Mom and son ride with FP+ while dad watches daughter who is too short. Does my son need a second fastpass to ride with dad and does dad need a FP+?

It's great to see you here today at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Julia, and Sivako! That's Na'vi for "rise to the challenge", which for your family means riding on the back of a mountain banshee of Avatar - Flight of Passage when you visit the Valley of Mo'ara in Pandora - The World of Avatar at Disney's Animal Kingdom. It certainly has been one of the most popular attractions there since it opened almost two years ago, so I'm happy to walk you through what FastPass+ selections you'll need to make for your family when you're using the Rider Switch service as well.

Rider Switch is a great vacation planning tool for families like yours who have a little one who isn't quite tall enough to ride some of the more thrilling attractions, so if you have to split into two riding groups so someone is always with your daughter, your group won't have to wait in the standby line twice. You can use Rider Switch in conjunction with FastPass+, but everyone who intends to ride the attraction will need to have a valid FastPass+ if the first riding group wants to enter through the FastPass+ queue. This is going to be super magical for your son because the Rider Switch return time entitlement is good for up to three guests, so he will be able to ride twice, once with each parent, without needing a second FastPass+. Of course, you can still use Rider Switch without having a FastPass+! The first riding group will wait in the standby line, and the second group will use the Rider Switch entitlement to use the FastPass+ entrance.

    Have a magical day, Julia!
