We are flying Southwest Airlines to MCO. Will the Magical Express transport our checked luggage directly to the resort? We were told that we must pick up our checked luggage prior to boarding the Magical Express because SWA is not a participating airline.

    Hi Jessica,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel with a great question.

I am a big fan of Southwest Airlines and Disney’s Magical Express®. I can assure you that Southwest Airlines is a participating airline. As long as your flight arrives between 5:00 A.M and 10:00 P.M. you will not need to claim your bags before proceeding to Disney’s Magical Express Check-In. If your flight lands after 10:00 P.M. you will need to bring all your luggage to the motorcoach since the baggage service does not operate during those hours. Your motorcoach driver can offer you assistance with loading and unloading your bags. Remember to pack your MagicBands in your carry-on luggage. You will need them to unlock the door to your Resort Hotel Room and check-in with Magical Express.

Southwest also offers Resort Airline Check-In from select Disney Resort Hotels, for your return trip to Orlando International Airport. This service is offered at select resorts from 5:00 A.M. to 12 noon. You must have a valid ID and check your bags at least three hours prior to your scheduled flight. You will receive a transportation notice the day before your departure that will advise you of your scheduled pick-up time. If you choose to not use the Resort Airline Check-In, you must bring your luggage to the motorcoach along with your notice and the driver will again assist you with loading and unloading your bags.

    See ya real soon,
    Andrea
